Afternoon Tea at the Crown, Amersham

There is something really special about quiet, January afternoons, in the English countryside.
So, I'm not going to write a massive post. Just look at the pictures and try to remember when was the last time you took a weekday afternoon off, to just observe your surroundings and indulge in what the countryside has to offer.

We didn't exactly take the afternoon off either, but in-between work engagements and a citizenship ceremony, we dared take 45 minutes, to celebrate with a traditional afternoon tea, before heading back to work.
The Crown Bar in Amersham has this semi-lit, cosy room, with a fireplace, cosy armchairs and wooden beams that remind you how old the building is.
Surprise reference: the interior of the Crown was actually used in filming "Four weddings and a funeral"!
If you wan to stay, you can too! (check availability)

It's quiet.
And kind of dark.
The scones were great and the sandwiches fresh. But who cares?
Sink in the big armchair and watch life unravel on a winter afternoon outside the window, in this quaint Chiltern Hills town!
There comes an end to everything nice...
