May Day Weekend

The first May bank holiday weekend is here! Glimpses of coming lazy summer weekends, BBQ, Pimms and sunshine! If you ask me, every special holiday of the year is best spent with family! Quick call and it's all settled; loved ones, cute little nieces and best friend all coming around for Bank Holiday dinner.
First off, table decoration: time for a makeover for those one week old flowers in the house; discard dried out leaves, trim the stems and make cute little bouquets that burst with colour; now call them rustic! I've got the perfect miniature flowerpot too: shiny copper cups that followed us home from our last trip to New Delhi
Next up: food! Nothing beats my slowly roasted leg of lamb, stuffed with garlic, parmeggiano and rosemary. The result is succulent meat falling off the bone, swamped in its own gravy slightly salted by the parmeggiano! Baked potatoes in a lemon and oregano sauce and fresh salad with sesame croutons! Dessert: chocolate-raspberry gateaux from Maison Blanc, compliments of my bestie.

Wait, don't you find that it always tastes better next day with coffee? hands off!

Strolling in the early evening, when the sun hasn't quite set yet. Destination: Battersea Park. It ticks all the right boxes; ice cream stand, river promenade best enjoyed barefoot, courts-in-hand and glimpses of what could be Willy Wonka's factory. Stand by the fountain lake and look over the green hillocks covered in red and yellow tulips, straight at the chimneys of the old Battersea Power Station. You'll see what I mean! Oh and not to forget the extra-terrestrial presence, running around the paths; quite an exciting place to be, Battersea Park!

After all of the travelling we've been doing lately, it feels great to be back in sunny London! Westbourne Grove is always a favourite and what better spot for brunch other than Granger & Co, along with friends! Aussie full breakfast for happy tummies and Mimosas to match the sunshine outside! And then strolling around the little streets, framed with blossoming trees, covered in white flowers! This is London at its' best, enjoy!
